My client insists that email addresses she adds to a mailing list mysteriously get deleted.

I have suggested that perhaps folks unsubscribe themselves, and she insists that’s not the case.

I have done several tests, including adding bogus emails the list and sending (she suspects that mail that doesn’t get to its destination triggers an auto deletion), which I’ve told her doesn’t happen, and my tests confirm that.

I have searched the forum for other reports of this and can’t find any.

Is there something I’m missing? Something that causes addresses on a standard EE mailing to get deleted other than by manually doing it or an unsubscribe action by the recipient?

We’re on EE 1.6.8.

There is nothing that would do this

It might be worth finding out some background on the email addresses she is adding to the mailing list. If she is adding them, then the end user isn’t subscribing to anything so the likely hood of them unsubscribing is high.

Maybe email the person she added to the list to confirm if they unsubscribed or not?
