    Hi,

I am trying to convert our database from 1.69 to 2.1.0.

Everytime the installer is stuck at the same point.

    2.0.0: Converting Database Table exp_weblogs: 0 of 11 queries

And the installer is stopping doing things.

Any thoughts what i can do to solve this?

    steve-o-lution, a couple questions:

    1. Which build of 2.1 did you download?
    2. How much time passes at this stage?
    3. How much memory is allocated to PHP?

1: Just to be shure i downloaded the latest build available.

2 & 3: Allocated more memory to use for PHP. It’s now set on 320MB. Run the installer again, but after a half hour it’s still standing on the same screen and nothing is happening. Waited till a hour, but still the same screen.

    steve-o-lution,

Ok you should have plenty memory.

Can you tell us a bit more about your 1.6.9 build.

Do you have a lot of entries?
    Do you use relationships?
Do you have any extensions installed?

Can you run our Server Wizard please

    Hi,

This is a copy and in that database are 29547 topics. We don’t use relationships. Only plugin/extension i want to keep is the tags module. Disabled extensions and run the installer again, but also the same problem.

I ran the server wizard and the wizard told me that our server is ready. See attached screenshot.

Is there a debug feature, so that i can see what the script is doing?

    steve-o-lution,

It looks like you’re hitting a snag on one of the most intensive parts of the upgrade, which is the conversion of your 1.6.9 database to UTF-8 encoding. The good news is that this is a one-time conversion you won’t ever have to do again.

The database conversion may be taking too long in part due to the speed of the server, and the server is imposing a time limit on the updater script. EE tries to work around this, but the server has a final say.

Do you have a local development environment such as MAMP or WAMP? If you get your 1.6.9 site up and running locally there’s a good chance the upgrade will go much faster there and you won’t run into an issue.

    Hey,

Installed Wamp, tried to convert the Database, but got the following error.

“The update script failed without returning an error. Contact Tech department.”

The script stopt during Converting Database Table exp_weblog_titles.

    Any suggestions?

    steve-o-lution,

Can you take a look at your PHPInfo under Tools->Utilities and tell us what values you have for memory_limit and max_execution_time

    Hey,

Finally succeeded in converting a copy of the database to EE2. There were 4700 double member id’s in teh database and a handfull of double weblog entry ID’s. Not to be seen in Expression Engine, but only in the SQL database itself.
