A client of mine is having issues posting to a new weblog he just created. I checked and it seems to have been set up properly and associated with a field group, but when you go to the Publish menu and pick the weblog, the following error comes up:

    MySQL ERROR:

    Error Number: 1146

    Description: Table ‘hope_main.exp_pages_configuration’ doesn’t exist

    Query: SELECT configuration_value FROM exp_pages_configuration WHERE configuration_name = ‘template_weblog_18’ AND site_id = ‘1’

Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? It’s never happened before.

What version and build are you on? Is that using the Pages module?

    EE 1.6.8 build 20091002
Pages module is installed but none of the code really uses it.

What happens if you uninstall the Pages module and then re-install it? NOTE: You’ll lose any pages associated with entries if you do this.

    Then I get this error:

    MySQL ERROR:

    Error Number: 1051

    Description: Unknown table ‘exp_pages_configuration’

    Query: DROP TABLE `exp_pages_configuration`

    antiuser,

Does the pages module still show as installed after getting that error?
Are you in a position to do an upgrade to EE 1.6.9?

The module showed up as uninstalled after that.

I attempted to upgrade to 1.6.9 and all hell broke loose, all references in the Structure module were lost and so were the pages. This was on a massive live site… thankfully I had an older backup of the DB so I just reinstalled 1.6.8 and restored the DB and left it alone. It seems to be working now.

So, you’re all set? Up and running now?

Well it’s still not an ideal situation, since I’m now afraid of upgrading to 1.6.9 for fear of breaking the site again… but yeah the site is up and running.

I suggest we keep upgrading to a separate thread. Just make a good backup before you attempt anything. If anything goes wrong stop immediately and post about it, please. Thanks.
