    This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    The same thing is happening at my site.

    If I assign a category, the entry disappears from the home page. If I clear the category, it still does not appear. If I delete and recreate the entry, it will appear again.

    {exp:channel:entries channel="news_articles" limit="2" disable="pagination" status="Top Story" }
        <h4>{title}</h4>
    <p>    </p><h5><span class="by">By </span> {author}</h5>
    <p>    {article_excerpt}<br />
        <a href="http://{title_permalink=" class="read_story">Read Story</a><br />
    {/exp:channel:entries}

    I have the latest build installed. Fresh install, not an upgrade.

    What could be causing this?

    LarryMiller,

    Can you confirm your build number please? You can find this in the footer of your control panel.

    Hi LarryMiller,

    Please take a look at the very bottom of the control panel, not the ExpressionEngine Info tab. The build should be on the very last line of the footer.

    Can you also please try adding the show_future_entries=“yes” parameter to your tag?

    Sure.

    Build:  20100712

    I will update to the latest build and try again.

    I didn’t realize the program needed updating so soon.

    Build:  20100810

    The issue appears to be fixed. I added categories to the items and they are still showing up on the home page.

    Glad the build update fixed things. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
