My boss bought another site under MSM. I downloaded the files and replaced the old files with the newly downloaded ones from the 1.x folder. I thought I remembered the other we added licenses to the MSM that after I uploaded the files there was a new site button or something. Did I forget a step?

No, that should be all that it takes. Does the correct number of add-on sites appear in your web store page? Download that, overwrite the files on the server, clear all caches.

That’s what I did. One thing I noticed though is that the web store says it’s good for 7 sites and that’s what we want and we cuurently have 6 sites up, but the site ids are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7. I must have made a site with ID 5 at one time and then deleted. Would that make a difference?

That shouldn’t matter - it should be the total number of sites that you have that hides or shows that button.

When you FTP’d these files up, did you delete the old ones first?  I’ve seen this issue when files fail to over-write.

Also, please make sure you clear your browser cache to make sure you are seeing the latest updates.

If you still can’t see it, please do try deleting the old MSM files first and uploading the new from a new download; let’s make sure those 3 files are really the newest ones.

After all of this, if you are still experiencing the issue - let’s rule out a license issue before troubleshooting further.  Please email sales with the license number for that MSM so we can make sure of how many licenses should be available.  If you do end up doing needing to email us, please include this thread so that I have some background when looking this up.

Actually - even if you can get it to work, please do email sales with the MSM license number; you do not have one on your account so we need to verify it before offering further support.  We can kill a few birds with one stone, so to speak, and get you moving forward with this site.

    Thank you!

I did the email sales thing.

Also I looked again at the uploaded files and it looks like the core.sites.php file didn’t overwrite the old.

    Everything is working fine now.

    Thanks.
