Hey there.  I’ve migrated a site that’s in development and now my pretty templates (which are saved as files) can’t be found by the system.  I’ve had this problem before but it always turned out to be a PEBCAK error.  With that in mind, I triple checked my {tmpl_file_basepath} setting and have also made sure all of my permissions are set correctly.  I disabled my .htaccess file to make sure it wasn’t that.  I’ve also updated to the latest build of 1.6.9 just in case.

I did notice that, while “http://mysite.com/index.php/stylesheets/screen/” can’t find the template, ““http://mysite.com/index.php?/stylesheets/screen/” and ““http://mysite.com/?/stylesheets/screen/” can find the template.

    I’m running 1.6.9 Build 20100430 on a GoDaddy server running PHP 5.2.8.

    Thanks for your help!

Just a quick note…I’ve “solved’ this for now by setting my {site_index} to “?” - this renders URLs like so: “http://mysite.com/?/stylesheets/screen/”

Hopefully this isn’t a permanent solution, but it’ll do for now.

I think you’ll just have to force query strings. That way the question mark (which is needed on your server) would be used in all URLs automatically.

    Hey Ingmar,

That works perfectly.  I always wondered what the ‘force query strings’ setting was there for….now I know!  Thanks again.

Glad to see it was an easy one 😊 Please don’t hesitate to post again in case there’s anything else.
