    Hi All,

we’re sending our site live but getting blank pages when we try to wither view the site or the CP. MySQL on our DB server isn’t running on port 3306. How do we specify a port in the database.php file for $db[‘expressionengine’][‘hostname’]. Is it just xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1234?

    Thanks.

Hey Sarah - what does phpinfo tell you about mysql port? I know someone else on Twitter with the same issue.

What version and build of EE are you running? Also, on what port does MySQL listen?

they’re running latest version of EE Ingmar with MySql running on 3307 - there’s no hostname set on the database server, just the server IP (different than the web server IP) and looking at their PHP config, there’s no MySQL setup with PHP.

You can close this off now Ingmar - they’ve fixed the issue. PHP hadn’t been configured with MySQL 😉

Hey Brandon, yeah they are email I got from them:

At long last I’ve done it! You were correct in saying there was no MySQL evidence in the phpinfo. That’s because the extension wasn’t installed. Anyways, I feel a complete prat for not spotting something like that sooner. As we have dedicated servers I didn’t have something like Wampserver to rely on in terms of getting the right components installed - that’s my excuse for not installing the extension anyway!

I managed to get our hosts to give me the name of the DB server so that I could use it in the installation - it was just a case of using that plus the port number.
