    Hello

I’ve got a site set up where the system is currently off while in development. The site has certain templates that are restricted-only to be viewed only once a user has either created an account or logged in. I’ve set up a client “preview” member group (not super admin) that can access the CP and has permission to view the site while it is turned off. The idea here is that the client would log into the CP and then view the site so that they could see both the public and restricted templates…all while the system was turned off. This is working for “public” pages, but not for the templates that have been set to be restricted. Is it possible that if the system is turned off, and certain templates restricted, that these members/member groups cannot view the restricted templates? When I switch this member to be a super admin, they are able to view all restricted/public templates, but I don’t want the client to have access to all parts of the CP.

Hope this wasn’t too convoluted of an explanation of my problem. Thanks for your help!

    soire,

Have you verified that the templates are set to be viewed by the Preview group in the Access Restriction settings?

After a series of changing the very settings you’ve referenced and moving the member to a super admin and back again, I have this working on my end. My client insists that it does not work for them, which I half-believe, since I’ve successfully accessed these templates on 3 machines now. 😊

I’ve read elsewhere that certain member items (such as the “keep me logged in” option in a login form) can be cached and difficult to shake. Is this kind of “caching” normal for a restricted template? Just don’t want to tread down this path again!

Regardless, thanks for your reply…I appreciate the help!

    soire,

My advice would be to walk you client through clearing his browser cache and cookies. Then restarting the browser and logging in again.
