I have not located this outlined in the docs but if an Admin registers a new member through the CP:

    New Member Registration
    http://expressionengine.com/legacy_docs/cp/admin/members_and_groups/new_member_registration.html

and has preferences set for either Self Activation or Manual Activation by site Admin is there a way to have the CP send an email to the new member with their username and password?

I also have a lot of existing members from a site migration that are already “members” but since the site migration have not been issued and email with login instructions etc.

BTW: I also have the site turned off at the moment…would this cause problems when testing?

Hi, hungrysquirrel - this isn’t an option at the moment; if an Admin registers the member then an email is not sent; you will need to send that separately.

You’re welcome to add a Feature Request for this.

Gottcha. Thanks for confirming I didn’t miss something in the docs.
