Is this realistic? I’m particularly concerned if it’s a good idea or not to have, potentially, many 1000’s of entries per a channel - with associated comments. Is this the type of thing a channel can handle?

Yes, I don’t see why not. Completely unsupported of course 😊, but the original pMachine Pro’s “forums” were built like that, if I remember.

Thanks Ingmar. With Solspace Freeform 3 , Favorites and the new voting module, I think I could concoct a simple forum.
Wondering what wouldn’t be supported?

I just meant we wouldn’t be able to offer much in terms of technical support for actually building that—we do have a supported forum solution, though 😊
Seriously, there might be some issues to solve but nothing crying out to me.
