    On a blog I’m making, I want to have just a single body field, which the user can then use a Wordpress-like tag such as

    <!--more-->

    to indicate where the text should break for an excerpt (but show the whole entry on a single-entry page).

    I know there are options such as a dedicated excerpt field or a plug-in like TruncHTML, but neither of these are ideal (duplicate or broken content in the former, lack of precision in the latter). I’m hoping there’s a plug-in out there I haven’t discovered yet.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

    I’ve never seen one either, but I haven’t spent any amount of time actively looking for one. I think if the truncated content that something like TruncHTML produces is a problem, then the way to go would be a separate summary field. That way you get far more control and flexibility.
