My client has a database of birth records, death records, & birth announcements.

On their existing site, they upload a spreadsheet, and users can search for a name in any or all of the lists. The site then outputs the newspaper issue number that contains the announcement, and they send the user a copy - these records themselves are not online, and go back to papers from the 1920s.

    Current Site

I didn’t do the current site, but it appears to use the current CMS (Article Manager) to do the search - and it doesn’t do that good of a job.

Anyway, I need to do something similar on the new site, with a simple way for the client to upload their spreadsheet as well.

I am at a loss really of how to do it. any ideas?

the only issue you’ll have is if the spreadsheet would add records in extistence or only new rows. If you needed to empty the weblog each time then you could use http://brandnewbox.co.uk/docs/Home/Plugin:PurgeData/
