I installed EE2.0 with no issues whatsoever, but a week or so later, I got an email from the host saying that I am violating the terms of use for the VPS because of IRC. I have no idea if this is related to EE or not… can anyone tell me if there is an IRC involved with EE? Otherwise, my account must have been hacked because I certainly did not install an IRC!!

Welcome to the forums, KMDG! No, EE does not have anything to do with Internet Relay Chat.

Thank you for the clarification! I was pretty sure that EE didn’t have anything to do with IRC, but I thought I’d double check because that is literally the only thing I touched on the VPS. ODD!

Consider asking your host for clarification, having them point out the script they take exception to, and why.

That only concerns IRC channels about EE. As I’ve said, there’s certainly nothing like that built into EE’s code.

At first skim I thought maybe it was a way to connect your EE to the IRC channel, but then I read it more in depth and figured that’s what it was. Thanks again. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this.

Very good. Probably not an EE issue, but keep us in the loop.
