About two weeks, I wrote a headline and blog and hit submit. Nothing. I had to change the hed to get it to take. Then I updated to the hed I wanted. This continues. Never had this problem in 7 years on pMachine or EE. What setting affects this?

Have you installed anything new recently? Which build are you on?

Hi Sue. Nope. I had some modifications done last year, but this just started 2 weeks ago. 1.6.8.

Is there a chance the entry is in the future? If you check the date field right before entering, is it in the future?

Are you reusing the title in any way?

Sometimes I reuse politicians’ names. But in the latest post about the NRA, the title was all new. My original title was the current title. I had to delete the “for Second Amendment rights”, post and then put “for Second Amendment rights” back in the title and update.

Oldedit, have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Does this occur with other browsers? A version update would also be recommended to ensure all of your files are still intact.

Why would the browser matter? This doesn’t have anything to do with the browser. It’s all about EE.

To clarify, you’re saying that nothing happens when you hit Submit? That most certainly could involve the browser. Or are you saying the article submits and just doesn’t show up on the front-end?

When I submit, the article is not processed by EE. It just sits there waiting for me to shorten the head or rewrite it. What’s interesting is that after I submit the shorter head, I add back the part I had to cut, and the update works.

    Hi Oldedit,

There is a maximum length for both the title and url_title fields. Exactly what were you trying to use as an article title?

    Cheers
