My client is getting a 502 Bad Gateway error or a blank white page when they try to submit an entry they’ve created through the CP. I’m unable to replicate this problem from my office, but it happens to me when I’m at their office. I also sometimes get a blank white page when I’m navigating through the CP (what I’m at their office only).

I have several blogs, like “article”, “event”, “calculator”, and it doesn’t matter which one they’re posting to.

The error happens about 20% of the time they hit the save button.

I’m running EE 1.6.8 with modules FreeForm and Structure, plug-ins CookiePlus, EditThis and Repeet. I’m at their office now, and I get a blank screen when I try to list Extensions. When I’m at my office, the CP works fine.

My memory_limit is 75MB. I tried changing it through htaccess to 128MB, 256MB and 384MB, and it seemed to have no effect. I used the line:
    php_value memory_limit 128M

I’m at a loss. Are there other steps I can take to troubleshoot this?

Thanks for that link, but we’re not running on Windows, and the strange part of the problem is that it happens from the client’s office, but not from mine. It doesn’t matter if I’m using their PC or mine.

I’m unable to replicate the problem from my office, with one exception: From my office, I can’t access the Extensions page in the CP. I just get a blank white page. I pulled up a list through FTP: FieldFrame, Gypsy, LG_addon_updater, LG_tinyMCE, moxiecode, sarge, structure.

Is it possible that I have too many extensions?

Are there any log files or other things I could use to get more information?

It’s an issue with either their network (connection) or the server. 502 errors are due to poor IP communication between back-end computers, possibly including the web server at the site you are trying to visit.

Is he getting this error only for the EE site, or for other sites as well?
