Need some theory here.  I have a potential client that needs to sell tickets to events at their venue in advance, then print out a list of attendees for a particular event.  Would the simple commerce module suffice for this? If they need to take credit cards, does anyone have a suggestion for a simple and easy ecommerce app?

Also, I haven’t found any photo galleries for 2.0.  Do you know of any?

You can roll your own photo gallery using either native abilities or Matrix - to put all images in one place.  The reason the Photo Gallery was dropped was because it was redundant to channel entries functionality.

    You can also look at
http://www.devdemon.com/store/detail/channel_images/ - I haven’t used it to be able to comment on it.

I haven’t seen a dedicated events registration module yet - why not just use EE to promote the event and hook up to something like eventbrite or eventwax to handle the registration end of it?

Well I just read that paypal accepts payments from users that do not have paypal accounts.  So simple commerce would probably work for this small requirement.  The eventbrite thing looks like overkill and an extra step for the admin to take.

The channel_images thing looks like exactly what I need but there isn’t a version for EE 2.0

Just keep in mind - what you aren’t going to get from EE is tracking # of remaining tickets.  You’ll also need to require users to register in order to use Simple Commerce.

    Look again..😉
