I’m having an issue upgrading from 1.6.8 to 1.6.9. A possibly important note is that I’m running on an IIS 7.0 server.

I completed the upgrade as usual and I’m receiving the:

An error occurred while attempting to fetch your config.php file. The file seems to contain no configuration values.

I have checked my config.php and config_bak.php and the all have the correct permissions as well as the update.php and updates directory. I’m a bit at a loss because I have double-checked most of the common errors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Your config.php is not empty, is it? Apart from that, did the upgrade go fine? Are you, in fact, running 1.6.9 now?

config.php is not empty and no, the upgrade did not stick. I tried removing the file, creating a new file, etc. with no luck. Also, when I removed the file it was still throwing the:

An error occurred while attempting to fetch your config.php file. The file seems to contain no configuration values.

    Rather than the:

An error occurred while attempting to fetch your config.php file. Please check the file permissions

Shouldn’t the first error be thrown if the file was absent?

My suggestion would be to re-upload a fresh set of files and try again. You might also want to ask your server admin about any log file entries. What version of PHP are you using?
