Hi, I hope someone can help.

For the last 2 months I have had 20 or 30 new spam member registrations per day on a site I manage that uses the normal member registration form. I would like to replace the current captcha with reCaptch (http://recaptcha.net/). Is this possible? If not, how else can I stop the spam registrations?

Can the URL of the form be changed? http://www.mysite.com/index.php/member/register/ as this seems to be very easy for spambots to guess?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There are alternative add-ons available on devot-ee that allow you to do this

If you goto Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Membership Preferences  you are able to change your Profile Triggering Word

you can also set the Require Member Account Activation? to manual activation

Member Utilities, a third party offering adds additional tools for managing members and spam

    Hope that helps
