When the client goes to create a link in the editor it will not allow them.  Thinking it was something simple i went in to do it for them.  But i cant create a simple link.  I will hard code the link but it doesnt work. After you save it, it will vanish.  HTML is allowed on the prefs and its using the default ee editor

    Welcome to the forums, ExtremeGroup!

When the client goes to create a link in the editor it will not allow them.

I am not sure what you mean by that. What editor, where? For starters, what version and build of EE are you on?

I will hard code the link but it doesnt work. After you save it, it will vanish.  HTML is allowed on the prefs and its using the default ee editor

So this is the EE control panel? You are creating a new article, I take, with a link? Are you using any buttons, or hard coding the HTML

    < a href >

? What happens upon submit? Any error messages? A white screen?

    Are you using any extensions?

    This EE build is 1.6.7
Better Meta is the only extension.
Also the Navigation module is on it.

Sorry for the late response.  I did a bit more digging and its any html not just anchor tags, though i should have suspected that right away.  Its an older site and everything has been working fine for about a year now and the site is heavily used by the client.  If i go to any weblog entry and save it it will strip out all the formatting.

All of their settings look fine to me.  Full XHTML formatting is allowed on all the weblog entries.

The only thing i can think of is the webserver was hacked about a month ago and they rewrote all files on the server that had index.* so i had to re-up the index files everywhere.

In that case, I recommend you upgrade to 1.6.8, which will put you at the most recent version and refresh your files.

    Would that work for you?
