I have a project coming up that would involve the membership module that im sure ill have to create some of the functionality myself. I was just wondering how far I could get with the out of the box features.

I know the membership module is quite extensive so I know it can handle member groups and member signups but unsure of some additional features.

Is there a way to use it as a ticketing system with custom entry fields for certain requests?

A workaround i was thinking of was creating a form what was only accessible by the member group and it populating the name with the members ID.

Is there any way for that request to be an entry that once approved can then be published to a weblog? Almost as if each member signing up is an author who is sending draft requests to post to the site.

In a nutshell would like for members to be able to make weblog entry drafts without having access to the control panel, also have the ability to see their approived entries in a list.

I know its kind of a tall order but if this can be done out of the box or with 3rd party add-ons it would make my life that much easier.

Was wondering if this add-on would help me get closer to my goal

    Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you could do that with some SAEF’s and the Solspace Module is nice, because you can put all of those nice Member module forms in normal templates and mix in weblog code.

I’ll move this to “How to” so you can get some additional input.

    Happy EE’ing!

Wow! how did I miss that functionality?  :cheese:

I have more and more requests for member driven sites so this is great news.

Is there a way for the member to see their entries in a list and edit them?

Hmm, not sure how you would go about this. I am moving this thread to the ‘How to’ as Adam suggests and helpfully you may get some more community input
