    Hi guys,

    1) Does EE give functionality (through itself or an extension) where one could search/filter for results using multiple criteria? For eI have a feeling I read before that this would be a custom job, but I can’t seem to find that post.

    2) I believe you can set permissions for groups of users. Would it be possible to give individual users edit (but not create or delete) permissions for a single entry?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi, George -

    1.  It depends what you need to do.  You might look at the Super Search module from Solspace.com as one possible solution to this.

    2.  Edit permissions are handled by group; you can do reading permissions individually at the template level.  You can set it so that users can edit only their own entries though.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks Lisa,

Regarding (2), would something like this work?
-As an admin, manually create a new user who has permissions to create entries
-Create an entry logged in as the new user
-Change the permissions to only edit, but not create entries
-Pass the log in details to the particular client.

    Regards,

    George

You can create the entry as you and assign the author as needed, so you can do that in fewer steps.

Edit and post permissions are not separate; so if a user can edit, they can create a new entry. There may be some extensions though.
