Is there any way to relate the built-in site users to different posts/articles? I’d love to be able to do this via a Playa fieldframe field as I’d like to be able to associate many users at once (with auto-filtering).

I think devot-ee.com does something like this with developers (members) and add-ons (entries). I’ll try to point them to this thread and see if they have some insight

mnh: You can do this with a few different extensions, but the idea is generally the same regardless of which extension you choose to use. You have a custom field that pulls in members in some way, and you select one or more members from that field to relate to whatever post you’re on. That’s half of it. If you’re building a SAEF (Stand Alone Entry/Edit Form) you’ll need to do some sort of check on the template to see if the logged_in_user_id matches an id in that field.

On devot://ee, I’m using NG! Member List to relate a member to a post. You might also consider LG Member List. If you search for “member list” on devot:ee you should come across a slew of decent add-ons, a couple of which are EE2 only.

Thanks guys, I’ll give it a shot. I haven’t had a chance to dl EE2 yet, hopefully some of this becomes a bit more integrated in the future. Necessary for any community site I’d think.
