    I am looking to setup an online store on my website.  The main features I want are:

    * Easy searching to find the correct item
    * A good cart/checkout system that looks like it’s on our site (not a paypal re-direct)
    * Rate/Review items
    * Purchase, renew, and manage annual subscriptions
    * Use the same user account in the store that is used elsewhere on the site

    The EE representative I emailed said I could do all the above with EE, FoxEE (HCC Dev.) and Rating Module (Solspace).

    Are there any EE sites that someone could link to with the above feature list?  I’d like to show my boss something more concrete than a list of features and third party add on features.  This is well above the level of things I can test (for free) on the Core installation, so any live examples would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, Christopher - welcome to the forums!  That is the same suite I would have recommended.  I’m sure there are sites using that combo, and they may be in the Showcase but I don’t have any specific links.

    Hi Christopher,

    I just replied to your email but wanted to also point out our foxee SHOWCASE which has several live sites that perform your requested functionality.

    I just had a meeting with my boss and he wanted me to check on the following:

    { Online Subscriptions }

    Is there a way to have EE/FoxEE automatically email our members X months before their subscription expires to remind them to renew?

    If we have to do this manually, is there an easy way for the admin to see a list of users who’s accounts are 3, 2, or 1 month from expiring and manually send them an email?

    Either way, once someone replies to the email and renews their subscription: It would add a year to their current subscription rather than canceling out their remaining 3 months and replacing it with a 1 yr subscription. Correct?

    { Store }

    I see on the FoxEE feature list “Live shipping rates” “Discounts based on quantity”  Is this going to allow us to offer free shipping on say any order of 2 or more items?

    You could use something like http://chargify.com/ and http://shopify.com

    Emails are automatically sent at 90% of the subscription.

    Currently the user will start a new subscription, we are working on Defined timeframes.

    You will want to check with FoxyCart for this.

    I think it would make our customers angry if they tried to renew and it cut off a month or two from their subscription.  We need it keep their current plan and add to it?  What’s the timetable on HCC getting this to work?

    Anyone know of another add-on that could either as a standalone or with FoxEE let people subscribe for 1, 2, or 3 year periods and when renewals come up ADD the new time to their subscriptions instead of REPLACING the remaining time with the new contract?

    This is actually something that is handled through FoxyCart. You will want to check with them about this functionality.

    I think I’ve been going about this the wrong way.

    Brett from FoxyCart says that what I am trying to do (subscriptions for defined periods of time that DO NOT auto-renew) is not a subscription as far as Foxy Cart is concerned.

    People need to be able to buy access to our web content and/or receive print editions for 1, 2, or 3 years from the date of purchase.  We call this a “subscription”, but FoxyCart may not.  BEFORE their access period comes to an end, they should be able to “renew” and continue to get the web access and/or print edition for another 1, 2, or 3 years.

    The words used are not important.  All that matters is that I am able to get this to work.

    No, your going about it the right way. You are going to have to use a custom add_to_cart form to force end dates with foxycart. Lets continue this on the thread you created on our forums.
