Well, my second post for another site I host for my sisters company & wish I had designed myself (I’m inspired to learn EE, although I know that’s just the framework it is built upon, the flexibility is very impressive)!

http://www.create-this.co.uk which is a “cardboard engineering” company in the UK. Feedback is welcome & I’ll ask the design company if I can credit them. I don’t imagine they will say no, but it’s polite to check.

Toooooo bright! That red is ok is small bursts but I find it difficult to read the text.

I love the layout of the site but I agree with Simon - the red is too overpowering.  It doesn’t make me want to stay at the site, which is a bad thing.

    Hi,
Thanks, I think so too. I’ll discuss it with my sister & see if I can talk her into a darker shade. I think I’d like to incrase the text font size a bit as well as I feel it’s on the small size for easy readability - especially against the red background !!

For a quick fix -change the white to red and the red to white! 😊

    Thanks,
That’s a good idea, I tried it quickly & it’s much easier on the eye. I’ll try and persuade her.

way too vivid, my eyes do hurt, but a quick change darkening it a fracton would be fine too, without flipping the colours.

Also be careful of your mouse over colour on the menu. Dark red on bright red is hard to read for many and you will not technically have an “accessible” site. but that is just being picky!

An excellent point on the mouse over color. I just tried switching it to bold instead of changing the color, much nicer.
