This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I just upgraded to 1.6.8 and set up a new MSM site, copying an existing weblog and its entries to the new site. I’m logged in as Super Admin, and when I go to Publish, I get the message “You are not authorized to post weblog entries”

The weblog DOES exist for thi site, I see it when I go to Admin > Weblog Admin > Weblog Mgmt, so that’s not the problem. However, since Super Admins are supposed to have access to all weblogs, the “on/off” switch in Members and Groups permissions isn’t there.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks!

    Shaun

Can you access the new site, including it’s control panel, without any problems. Can you switch between Sites normally?

When you create a new weblog for the new site and add an entry there, does that work?

Yes, I can access the site’s control panel.
Yes, I can switch sites normally.
If I create a new weblog for the site in question, I still get the message that I am not authorized to post any weblogs even as a super admin!)

    aesthetica,

Are you able to edit any of the entries that you copied to the new site?

Did you duplicate weblogs and entries or just move them to new site when you added the new site?

I duplicated the weblog entries from an existing site—but I’m not able to edit them on the new site.

When I click the Edit Tab:  “You have no weblogs assigned to you for this site.”

When I click the Publish Tab: “You are not authorized to post weblog entries”

I am able to edit them on the site I copied from. I’ve also created a new weblog specifically on this site as Super Admin, but I still get these Unauthorized errors.

Are you running any third-party extensions? You might also try to replace all of your files with fresh copies (if only to rule out file corruption), and clear all of your caches.

    I cleared all my caches.

The error persists even with all extensions off.

If my files were corrupted, wouldn’t the 4 other sites on my installation have the same problem? They don’t—I’m able to edit all weblog entries as Super User on these other sites. I reinstalled 1.6.8 anyways, the MSM extension, and the files for this site. Still no luck.

I also tried deleting the site in the control panel and restarting. No luck. I can’t try creating a 6th new site to test without a new license key (I only have licenses for 5 sites, and 4 are live)

Can you give us a screenshot of:

    Site1 > Admin › Weblog Administration › Weblog Management

    and

    Site2 > Admin › Weblog Administration › Weblog Management

Make sure to remove your address, from the address bar.

This will help us determine if there is anything odd going on. Thanks!

Sure—screenshots are attached. I’m happy to give you direct access so you can peek, I’m that baffled!  🐛  Just let me know the most secure way to give you the login info, if that’s an option. I have a fresh backup on my machine, so no liability.  Thanks

    aesthetica,

You are running the extension NSM Publish Plus. You had not enabled any group settings for it in that new site you created. Please review the extension settings for that particular site and you should be up and running now.
