    HI All—

I did a clean install of EE 1.6.8 and have not made any changes or updates, just installed the personal version.
I’m looking in my system/cache file and I’m seeing a few files, one of which I have no idea why its there.

Here are the files that are in there:

    db_cache
    index.html
    magpie_cache
    page_cache
    sql_cache
    tag_cache

is this normal to have these files in here? I recently had a server breech, and I’m just paranoid of someone getting in—esp since the cache folder has to be set to 777.

    Thanks!

    Lisa

Depending on your option there might be more or fewer directories, but, yes, they’re all fine. You can delete some or all of them, too, they will be recreated as needed.

OK thank you! Should I keep the dir set to 777?
    Can that be dangerous?

Yes, permissions need to be kept at 777, as per the installation instructions. On a properly configured server this is not an issue.
