    Hello,

I run a magento commerce site and want to have a forum. I purchased EE and the discussion forums modules a while back, but had trouble installing EE and getting it up and running. Now, I would like to install the discussion forum module. I’d like to know if it would be better to have my hosting company do the install or if I should try and do it myself? If I do it it myself, how difficult is it and how long does it typically take?

    Thanks.

In order to run the forum you will have to install EE as well. My suggestion would be to simply give it a try, it’s not too difficult, but if you do run into any issues, tell us about it we’ll do our best to help.

If you’re comfortable uploading files to your site via sFTP, then the whole installation might take two minutes (1:55 to upload, 5 secs to activate). If you don’t want to mess around with file uploading, and your host admin can set it up, it’ll take all of about 60 seconds once they’re done. It’s merely a matter of uploading some files, logging in, activating the module.
