    Hello one and all
I am still very new to EE (used on one basic site) and have next to no experience with PHP. My next job is for a not-for profit organisation (my sports team) and a number of people would like access to editing the website without going through me.

One thing is holding me back that I thought the kind people on this board can advise me on:

Match Reports – Currently we have a system where a user can add a new match report after the weekend, this utilises a series of dropdowns, check boxes and text areas for the results, Home/Away, score, Man of the match, etc…  When the user hits “Submit” it posts brief info on the home page and then a full report in that particular teams page on the website. Currently this is managed by a basic bespoke CMS built with PHP. Can current functionality of EE do this? Will I have build a custom module? Can I turn my current Match report CMS into a module?

Any insights, advice, questions let me know

    Manythanks

Shouldn’t be too difficult to set something like that up, using a few custom fields and an appropriate template. Just create a new weblog, perhaps a field group, then the required fields (Teams, Score, etc.)

I’d probably use related entries for teams and players, and free text fields for everything else. Then, pull it all together in your template. No custom module needed for something like that.

    Thanks for the response
You have slightly lifted the weight off my shoulders… still sounds pretty complex for my newbie skills….

    Thanks again

I’d have a look at Brandon Kellys Fieldframe extension too.

EE can be a bit daunting at first (any system is) however EE is pretty straightforward when you get to grips with simple template tags.
