    Hello all,

I am looking to buy my second license and the second project is a bit more advanced than the first, this time I think I need to play with member permissions a bit.

The client needs the ability to allow other companies to log in and fill out a profile “weblog” and at the same time to upload some images which will also appear in the “weblog”. I can see with the simple entry form that its easy to fill out a profile but does expression engine support the uploading of images as I have completely missed it.

    Thanks in advance!

PS. Sorry if im really bad at searching and this is a common question!

Hi, os - yes, you can allow your users to upload files and you can do so using the SAEF (though you’ll need to grant them CP access for the file upload box to work).

If you need help implementing this, I can move it down to a more appropriate forum for you.  Let me know!

thanks lisa that would be appreciated.

the main question i probably have is do they have to know they have access to the cp, can they do this from the normal website or can it only be done through the cp?

Again thanks for your help 😊

and that was a fast reply btw!

They can do it from the front-end, and you don’t need to give them a link to the CP, but the permission to access the CP must be set to yes to use the built-in file upload.

Sorry I missed your follow-up question, too.  Thanks for responding again!
