    Hi

I have just copied my site to a staging server and everything works fine (1.6.8). The only thing that I can’t figure out is why my template is not displaying the results of a custom query.

It works fine locally and when I run the query in the control panel on the staging site or in mySqlAdmin it returns results, so the query is fine.

In my php.ini file error reporting is on, all errors set to display, and 128M memory allocated.

I’m stumped - have I missed an important step of the migration process?

What’s the query you are trying? You do have the query module installed, of course?

Wow, fast response. Thanks for getting back to me!

I’ve just been going through more of the control panel settings and discovered I had SQL query caching on. Taking this off resolves the problem but is this a big performance hit?

Ah, query caching, yes that would explain it. It’s difficult to predict performance, just give it a try: every host is different. If you use tag or template caching you should be fine, though.

One quick question while I have your attention 😉

Strikes me that the process of moving a site from server to server could benefit from a transfer wizard. There are quite a few db entries that include the path or domain name that take time to work through.

Is anything planned for this in 2.0?
