    Hi all,

This question has doubtlessly been asked before but I can’t find any info on it:

Is there any plugin or other method by which I can have custom weblog fields that only appear to certain member groups?

For example, if I need to create a weird admin-y kind of custom weblog field, but don’t want non-technical weblog editors to have to deal with it, can I hide it in any way?

(Hide it completely, rather than just set the textbox to be closed by default.)

    thanks,
    Pierce

Pierce, I’d use the SAEF (Stand Alone Entry File) for this.

Thanks Sue. I was only vaguely aware of the SAEF. I’ve never made use of it until now, but I’m impressed by the overview. Seems like it would cover what I’m asking for and also allow the appearance of editing within the website template. Interesting…
