Hi guys - apart from following this thread :
    http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/78532/
I cannot seem to find any any ‘official’ documentation on building forms.

I want to use the Members Module with EE for about 50,000 users.
I’ll be sending out mail to the 50,000 existing members through the post offcie with a generic username and password. Once they log in, they’ll be asked to change their credentials, and add their email address.

I expected to see a built-in module where I could build my registration form.
    Is this available ?

    Thanks!

The registration form is included with ExpressionEngine, in the member profile templates.  You can create a standalone registration form though that is not supported.  The User Module from Solspace.com is another option for this.

    Thanks for the reply.

So - say I choose to use the : Member Profile Form
Do I need to create a new page, and then copy and paste the form code from Member Profile Form into my new page ?
Or it there a EE/Smarty tag that I can include in the new page ?
or can I call this form as a include/require file ?

You would not normally copy/paste like that, you’d instead style those pages as part of the member profile themes.  You’d need to use the wiki entry to do this in a standard template, or the User Module.

That is not something that is supported out of the box, so it is not documented.  The wiki article I linked to shows you how; and like I said, the User Module adds this functionality.
