I don’t know how long this has been going on, but today someone pointed out to me that all entries on the home page point to the same article, despite the fact that in the browser status bar every link points to its own entry number.

I have tried to remedy this, but can’t find the culprit.
These are the first lines of code:

    {embed="Lego/mainhead"}

    How are you removing index.php?

    What’s in your .htaccess file?

I launched a support request over an hour ago, with as only result the request for the link (in the signature!) and the htaccess file. Nothing since then. This is actually costing me money, so I would very much appreciate that someone with technical skills would look into this.

The code hasn’t changed since the first request for help; all entries on all pages link through to the same story—the last one entered. The browser status bar shows the correct entry id.

    Thanks you.

I merged the two threads. There is no need to double post. So you have renamed your index.php to “main”? What version and build of EE are you on? Did anything change recently on your host or in your environment? Are you using any extensions?

I have found what caused it, but am puzzled by my solution…

Instead of “dynamic=off” in the more page where the story appears, I put “rdf=off” and this works. I guess this is a bug? Because when I read the manual, rdf=off only refers to trackback code.

Looks like something did change: forcing query strings should be all that it takes. This works as expected, eg: http://www.it-enquirer.com/main?/ite/more/1720

    Notice the question mark?

ETA: Probably not the issue, see below.

Looks like we crossposted. Erik, if you use dynamic=“off” on your single entry pages EE will disregard the entry_id in the URL… rdf=“off” has nothing to do with it, it’s simply not dynamic=“off”.

Now I’m completely confused. Before I activated trackbacks again, dynamic=off always worked! Aargh.

Please remove it for good. You want EE to display info according to the URL, after all.

    Yes, of course, absolutely.

This is so terribly stupid and ignorant! I can’t understand what I was thinking when I added that parameter or variable, or whatever it’s called…

Thanks for the help, and apologies for the stupidity.

No worries, Erik… Looks like your site’s working as intended again, which is the important thing. Can you confirm you’re good?
