    Hello EE team,

I am planning to build a site for a print shop. They would like to have customers upload files (like PDFs and PSDs) so they can print or alter them. They would also like to have customers log in and download the altered files and proofs.

I believe that this can be accomplished in EE (I have never done it myself and I tried searching the forums but did not find an answer) but I want to make sure before I buy it.

Please say YES, since I don’t want to go back to using Joomla! again. Oh the horror of Joomla!

Yes, EE can handle file uploads, either via the control panel or a stand-alone entry form. There are various third-party options as well, some of the most popular seem to be LG SAEF File Upload or the nGen File Field for FieldFrame for the backend.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll most likely use the stand alone form method as the 3rd party extensions seem to have some issues.

Hm, I wouldn’t know about that. But whatever works for you, obviously 😉

Solspace Free form is great. I have not had any issues with that.

But on the same topic as the original question. Anybody know of anything with a progress bar?

Hi, Cyan, I’m not familiar with one with a progress bar, but one of the current extensions may have one; if not, you could likely use some sort of jQuery solution for it.

    Hi Lisa,

I don’t really have to tie it into EE, but I thought if it could then great. I found this which looks customizable & will probably do the trick.

Looks like all the solutions that I could find that work well either use perl or Java.

But I’m hijacking this thread—so I’ll bow out now.

    Cheers,
    Tom
