I would like to add a tab to a specific list of weblog entries, but there seems no way to do this. The tag it should goto is listed below but the control panel will not let me add this to my tabs list.

I am trying to create a new tab in the control panel that allows me (or more specifically a none technical client) to retrieve a list of just news items in the edit panel. I have found the URL that does this which is &C=edit&weblog_id=11. If I use this query string in my control panel I get a nice neat list of just the news items, rather than a list off all the weblog items on the site.

Now when I click the new tab button, it does not let me create a tab of this shortcut? I think it thinks that I am trying to link to the edit page. I tried confusing it by trying to create tab for a place it would let me then change the URL but it won’t let me change the URL once I have got there.

I am just trying this to make the CMS easier for my client to use, if you have any alternative suggestions how to do that it would be great.

You could take a look into the Edit Menu extension.

It doesn’t create tabs for you but when you hover over the Edit menu it shows you all your weblogs much like the Publish menu and then clicking on any of them takes you to the Edit page with just the entries from that weblog.

That might help perhaps?
