    Hi,

I have a problem that when creating a new category it doesn’t appear on my published category list. Only when I use the following script the category is displayed.

Any idea how this is happening? When creating categories in the past this worked fine and categories would appear when created.

    Cheers,
    Tammo

What version/build of ExpressionEngine are you running, and what extensions do you have installed?

I use CSVGrab and recently started importing products from affiliates with categories included. Also use feedgrab but no categories included.

And I have recently upgraded from PHP 4 to 5, may be that has some to do with it?

CSVGrab is a third party add-on, and we can not provide support for it.  My recommendation would be to either
a.)  Revert to a backup of your database prior to the import, and manually insert the categories,
b.)  I can move this to the plugin forums.
c.)  Or you can contact the author, as there are some reports of issues with Category imports.

How many categories do you have?

Greg, how do I put this…..I just noticed that I have set the list to not show empty categories and never put any entries against the newly created…could bang myself for the head, so stupid.

Sorry for taking your time and thanks for your help.

Do you have a backup of your database from before you did the import?

Hi Greg, I do have some backups from before the import but it won’t be necessary anymore. The categories were not appearing due to a silly mistake from my side as I had set the list to not show empty categories (no entries assigned). As soon as I assigned an entry, the category appeared in the list as it should. I should have thought of that!

    Thanks again!
