It’s not free, but there’s the Solspace Ratings module.

There are also a lot of nice jQuery plugins that allow rating systems depending on exactly what you are looking for

Wich jQ plugins are you talking about? I’m looking for an easy mouse-over JS-styled rating, not a “drop-down, select and press submit” method.
Cheers

using solspace’s rating module I rolled my own jQuery “mouse-over-the-stars-and-click” rating functions. it’s not too bad if you can handle writing the javascript… solspace pretty much designed the plugin around being able to do that.

Hey Ender, any chance you’d be willing to share your “mouse-over-the-starts-and-click” goodness?

Bringing this back up — is there a rating tool that can be used without having to be a member? In other words, rate an article without being logged in, and perhaps tracked with an IP address to prevent someone sitting there rating it up or down? Then, on top of that, sort results by highest rated?
I know there are jQuery star ratings out there, but none of them discuss EE or database integration specifically.
