This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I’m having a similar problem and following the instructions in the knowledgebase didn’t appear to resolve it.  This is a new host I haven’t used before but am not sure what the issue is.

You can see what I mean by going here newsite.clearsprings.co.uk and here newsite.clearsprings.co.uk/index.php/news/.  The same page is displayed in both instances even though there is a news/index template available.  I’ve tried removing the .htaccess settings to check if its that and also putting some dummy text in the news/item template to ensure there isn’t an error there.  No change.

I’ve enabled the force URL Querystrings in the control panel and changed the variable in index.php as per the knowledgebase and again no change

Any advice would be gratefully received at this stage

    Cheers

You need to “force query strings”. See how this link works:

    http://newsite.clearsprings.co.uk/index.php?/news/

    It’s the question mark.

Ah yes my fault, teach me for manually typing in the URL’s to test.  Thanks Ingmar 😊

What is the change I need to request to get this to work correctly without having to force querystrings?  Is this to having php safemode disabled for the site?

    Cheers

I am not sure that’s all there is to it, but Apache’s AcceptPathInfo Directive needs to be on.

Great thanks Ingmar, I’ve submitted a ticket to the Sys Admins and hopefully this will be resolved shortly 😊

    Thanks for all your help

Very good. For the time being, and since the original issue seems to have been resolved, I am going to close this thread. If you need further help, please do not hesitate to post again as needed.
