In an effort to make the saef a bit more friendly I would like to use Javascript validation.  The problem with the EE validation is that if one makes a mistake, it tells you you made a mistake, but then erases the entire form.  I think it should be possible to do an initial js check that then puts the user back on the same form with the non-error pieces still filled in.  Is that possible?

My problem is that right now, with a primitive js script, after the js check it goes right through to the EE check, and I end up where I don’t want to be.

    Hiya,

A better way is to just use something like the Live Validation javascript. Set it up so people have to fill in the fields exactly as you expect them to be filled out and then they can’t even press the submit button until everything is correct. This means then that ExpressionEngine theoretically should never have a problem as you will have made people fill out the form in fullness before ExpressionEngine ever sees it so it should fix your problem right up I would imagine.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

I once used Really Easy Field Validation. It lives up to its name. Easy to implement and also doesn’t send the form until everything if complete and correct.
