Spanning if_logout across template includes

I am attempting to set up
```
{if logged_out}{/if}
```
placing the
```
{if logged_out}
```
in a header include and the
```
{/if}
```
in a footer include. What it ends up doing is breaking my stylesheet. Any ideas?

No, you cannot separate opening and closing tags like that, I am afraid.
