I would love for there to be a convention for CodeIgniter Developers. That would be awesome 😊 hopefully sometime in the future there will be one 😊

haha yes just like the style guide. thats what i meant…. lol, no i want to go to PHP Con or SXSW sometime soon and thought it would be cool to have a CI based one. or maybe just a group in PHP Con for CI 😊 haha im just thinking out loud now

I’ve found some awesome groups on MeetUp.com, including an Orlando PHP group that I learn a lot from when we have our meetings.  a CI meetup group might be a great way to kick start things 😊

Our community would have to grow, ten-fold, before a convention would be worthwhile. But, most of the EllisLab team attends SXSW and there are usually a couple of discussions on ExpressionEngine and CodeIgniter.

Your other options are to find a local group (like refreshAugusta, in my area) that focuses on web development, web standards, etc). reAugusta has monthly discussions as well as other events, like lunches. I definitely plan on getting very involved with them, once we move next week, and discussing CodeIgniter at length with the members.
