    I have scoured this forum and support. Cleared the Caches as instructed.  Tried three different browsers. My iPhone event.

    Anyone out there who can help?

    Thanks - Tim

    Tim,

    Can you confirm that after you hit the submit button on the control panel login page the next page is blank?

    Can you also confirm what version and build of ExpressionEngine you are running and if you have any extensions running?

    I found the solution and changed the Config.php using details from another post. Added two lines. It works now.

    Thanks!!!! Tim

    Glad you got it sorted changing the config.php.

    Can you let us know what changes you made config.php?

    As this solution, although it works should only be temporary.

    We should ensure that the changes are made to the database as well, so that we can remove the config.php overrides.

    Moderator’s note: Removed the irrelevant values from your config.php.

    Hi John,

    Well, I made the change and lost where I found it on the support forums. Take a look below at the code to see what changes were made..  Note I “####” out the sensitive info…

    Thanks!!! Tim

    $conf['cookie_prefix'] = "";
    $conf['cookie_domain'] = "";
    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "c";

    All these values are safe, and can be used long-term, but there is no need to necessarily set them in your config.php, you could use the control panel as well.

    You said you found a solution, adding / changing a few options in config.php. Take

    $conf['admin_session_type'] = "c";

    for example. This means that your are using cookies exclusively for CP access, and you can configure that in your CP > Admin > System Preferences > Security and Session Preferences as well. That said, if it works, don’t worry about it too much.
