    Moderator’s note: Moved to Howto.

I’m looking to have the option of multiple images per post and I’m just not sure of the best method. I’d love to find a way to have images peppered throughout a post much the way Jason Santa Maria does in his blog posts. I only reference him because I know he used EE.

The only way I can think to do it is to use Mark Huot’s File plugin and have each post body copy broken into # entry sections with an image upload(using the File plugin) for each section. This doesn’t seem like an efficient method at all so I’d love to hear any alternatives people may have come across. I’d really hate to have a publish page with 6 blocks for an article but I can’t think of any other way to do it.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you want them peppered through the article it sounds like you need to either be able to manage some coding in your entry field or use a WYSIWYG editor.

There are a couple of add-ons that will allow you to create a gallery of images associated with your article, but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re after.

Yeah I want to be able to upload the images while posting. I’ve used TinyMCE before but never with the image portion functional, has anyone had any luck with that? Idealy if I do something like that I’d like to have a few css classes to be apply to the images, is that something I can do(maybe through the LG addon settings?)?

If you want to upload the images while composing the entry and place those images in the flow of the content, you can use the default Upload functionality (Under the Submit/Update button). After uploading you can place a reference to the image in your entry text.

Perhaps I’m simplifying this, but I don’t think Mark’s File extension will work the way you need it to.

Simplifying is good, I had a feeling I was making it much more difficult than needed. I’ve never actually used the default Upload functionality. Lots of EE stuff I need to learn.

Just hopped in a local install and seems like this will work fine for what I need. Thanks for the reply, I feel pretty foolish for not realizing this was in EE from the start.

Which add-ons are those?  I’d like to be able to associate galleries to my article. Thanks!
