    EDIT: Almost forgot, happy new year everybody 😉

    I have a very strange problem with the email module of EE.

    When I try to send an email from the communicate page the content that’s entered in the body is duplicated in the received email.
    The problem only occurs with html mails, plain text is not a problem.
    I installed a clean EE just for testing if there was a fix in the final release/build or it was a conflict with an existing extension/module/plugin but it’s the same problem.

    The email protocol is PHP mail, sendMail and SMTP are not an option for this site.
    The website is hosted on a Windows Server.

    Also note the strange code at the body of the email(not a problem in plain mails), is there a way to fix this to?

    This is the source of the email from outlook

    Do you have another email client that you can try so we can make sure this is an issue with the email that EE sends?

    Outlook has quite a few quirks when it comes to html email.

    What version/build of EE are you running?  Is what you have pasted above an example email you have tried to send?

    I tried it on every version/build I have installed, also the latest version 1.6.6 build 20081212

    No, this(see below) is what I tried to send, and what I posted above is the mail I received in my mail client

    <html>
    <head><title>email</title></head>
    <body>
    <h1>Titel 1 </h1>
    bla bla bla bla baljdkjfqkjfklmqj fmd fkjdkfjéaoieufoi djaio f jodj fioqje joaj oidjf iao
    jfkqjfmkldjfkqj klmqjf klmqiofej n cej oijfnpdfdf 6qd4f3qgf 6d5 foi ff ijfklqd
    </body>
    </html>

    If you want I can send you the original mail source with headers as a private message

    Sue, I sent you an email, I hope you can find something.

    I tried 3 different windows servers and it was the same result with 2 of them, 1 was ok,  when I send the same email from a Linux server the HTML mail is also ok.

    I saw the same issue on the email you sent. Which Windows server worked? How did it differ from the others?

    I found a quick fix for this.

    When I use a SMTP server the mails are correct. The site is on an external servers that doesn’t have an SMTP server active so I just used our own SMTP for the site.

    Sue, sorry I don’t have the time now to search the differences between the windows servers. When I have some extra time I’ll look into this further and let you know.

    Thanks for the help

    PS: The code “—B_ALT_49621a0dcefa2—” at the end of the mail is also gone know
