    The Issue:
We had started the site on the Hostgator VPS and then transferred the entire account over through the WHM transfer. Unfortunately, now some of the results from the search are not showing and the database has all of the information. I’m imagining it’s a server set-up issue that we’d like to have corrected since when I initially requested the Cloud Server Set-up it was to duplicate all settings from the Hostgator environment.

I checked out the installations and updated the Apache install on the cloud to match the VPS, but it’s still not working.

    Here’s the error being generated:

This does not happen with all entries, but they are pulling from the same imported data as to verify I ran the import process to ensure that the information was the exact same.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Good Afternoon,

I’m in need of a list of requirements for EE to work with CPanel.

Softlayer believes it’s premature to declare an issue with the CCI configuration without knowing exactly what the software needs.

    Hi Troy,

It looks like the errors you’re getting are simply from files not being where Apache expects them to be. Have you updated all your paths within ExpressionEngine?

Beyond that, what search add-on are you using for this?

    Troy,

I merged the two threads you posted together so we could help you in one place. I can assure you that EE works fine in a CPanel environment. I’ve used EE in several CPanel setups myself, as have thousands of others. The requirements for EE are fairly standard, and you can find them here.

Actually it doesn’t import on some channel entries that have all of the information on the Cloud Environment.

The VPS (working on Cpanel) and the Cloud (some issues and using cpanel) are both the same version of Apache with the same installation; less PHP 4.

I was curious if there is a document that specifies what configuration is needed for apache.

Since the sites are exactly the same… it’s just odd that one of them only partially works and isn’t giving off any errors that Softlayer can trace back to an issue.

    Hi Troy,

Lots of folks are starting to use ExpressionEngine on cloud based servers, but it’s still a relatively new phenomena.

Working with Softlayer to sort out the mechanics is your best option. In theory, if the cloud server meets the minimum requirements, all should be well. However, the way Softlayer builds their implementation is a huge variable.

It may have been lost in the “merge” of the threads, but Kevin asked what search add-on are you using?

Is the search the only area where you are seeing this trouble?

    Cheers,
