  • Sorry for your trouble. There is not enough information here to be able to reproduce this, but I might be able to infer that your XML file has a member_id specified for a member but that member ID doesn’t exist in the database. Does that seem to be the case?

  • Yes this is the case. We would like all member_id’s to transfer and overwrite any existing id’s.

  • Ah ok. The current behavior is currently considered correct (though it could fail more gracefully), but I’ve just talked with the team and I think we can change the behavior so that you’re able to import members and also choose their ID, so be on the lookout for that.

  • Ok, can you provide us with an ETA? We are on a tight timeframe and working to transfer the members and the data to another server and it is important that the entries are associated with the correct author. We are transferring members first, then the channel entries and need the correct member to be associated with each channel entry. Based on the documentation, we thought this was already built into the functionality although we knew it was generally not recommended to use <member_id>.

  • I’ve just made this change, look for it in our next release, 4.2.1, which will likely be out in the next few days.
