Fluid fields can’t be moved in Channel Layouts

Version: 4.0.0 Reporter: Matthew81

Looks like they always show at the bottom of the Publish tab, no matter where I place them when creating the layout.

  • Hi Matthew, sorry you’re having trouble. I’m having difficulty reproducing, though. For instance, my first thought was that it was just that you added a new field to a Channel with an existing layout, since the field type is immaterial as far as the layout manager is concerned. But with Fluid or otherwise, I’m able to move them wherever I need and they stay there when I save the layout.

Can you run me through the steps you took to create both the Channel and the Layout? Please be as detailed as possible so that I can encounter the same issue you’re having.

  • Oh wow…I fiddled around with it so much yesterday I couldn’t begin to recall the steps. The channel, its fields, and the layout were each modified multiple times. I do know the layout was created before the Fluid field (actually I brought the layout with from EE 3) and then the Fluid field was added to it. That’s all I can remember specifically, sorry.

However, my immediate issue was resolved by merely re-creating the layout (something I should have thought to do to begin with).

  • No worries. If you run into it again, I emailed you a file to try. Seth found a related bug that might have caused the behavior you were seeing.
