Can’t add categories if channel has existing layout

Version: 3.5.10 Reporter: obfuscode

If you have an existing channel layout and and have no category groups or categories, if you create a new category group and categories, it does not show up in the channel layout editor. The only fix is to delete your existing channel layout and add a new one.

  • I’m not able to replicate testing on 3.5.11. Does it only happen if you have no category groups at all when you created the layout? And I assume the empty category tab does still show in the the layout editor but it’s just empty?

    You’re certain you did assign the category group to the channel and it had at least 1 category in it?

    And the category doesn’t show on either the layout editor or the publish page?
