I am following the guide here: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/how_to/building_a_simple_news_site.html
My work has asked me to build an EE addon, but I have no experience with the platform. I thought maybe following how-to on setting up a simple site would be a good place to start, but I am getting an error in the “Creating a Channel” section. The error can be seen here: https://holdthis.net/files/15/Screenshot%20from%202017-04-12%2011-51-10.png
I can reproduce this fairly easily. Just follow these steps: 1. Setup a DigitalOcean droplet using their LAMP stack template 2. Upload the free version of EE from https://expressionengine.com/store#ee-core 2.1 I would use the paid version, but I cant afford to pay $299 just to learn how to use the platform 3. Follow the instructions to install from here: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/installation/installation.html 4. Follow the steps up to “Creating a Channel” from here: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/how_to/building_a_simple_news_site.html
I was able to get this error to occur on two separate servers, following the guides to the letter.
I must say I am a bit less than impressed so far, trying to learn a platform that breaks so easily when following the official docs. I hope this can get resolved soon!
