every time i perform an action, whether it is quicksave, preview, upload image, or search, i get the login screen. therefore, when i begin a post, and then hit save, my work is not saved because the login screen appears.

Shefinds,
This has happened to me a few times. I tried clearing my browser cache and the cache files for EE. It didn’t let me clear them via the CP, so I did that with FTP. That has method has usually worked for me.
There was one time that didn’t work, so I cleared the exp_sessions table via PhpMyAdmin. I am in NO WAY suggesting you do that now, I’m just curious to see what an “official response” would be regarding that practice.

shefinds,
What method of authenfication are you using, sessions, cookies or a combination? Try switching. Also, are you using secure forms? You might want to turn them off for testing purposes.

where on the cp do I check if we have secure forms enabled?
so i enabled and disabled - Process form data in Secure Mode?
and we still have the problem both ways
any more ideas?

In Admin -> System Preferences -> Security and Session Preferences - what do you have set for both user and admin login type?

hi - I’m attaching a screenshot of the configuration. note that we’ve figured out this is only happening when we’re on WIFI - it’s fine if we plug in to the data connection directly.

Try using “cookies only”, see if that changes anything.
